ADP is looking for a Director of Development for the Analysis and Design Team. The Director provides a significant impact to ADP’s payroll reporting and compliance requirements as applied to the Autopay System. The Director will lead a team of statutory business systems analysts at different levels, who analyze payroll tax reporting, statutory and compliance items for the ADP Autopay system.

Summary:
This position will require the right candidate to manage the function of the Autopay Development Payroll Statutory Analysis team. The individual must independently perform and manage the day-to-day duties required to functionally lead a team of Business Systems Analysts who work on Rapid Stat Changes.
The qualified candidate must be capable of working under minimal supervision while managing a workload that peaks around quarter-end and year-end boundaries. This position requires management reporting regarding status and metrics of statutory items. Overtime and vacation blackout periods will be required as necessary to ensure the statutory compliance of the Autopay System.
Things You’ll Do:Â
- Oversee, review and prioritize the workflow of incoming statutory changes and defects to determine their business and systems impacts to the Autopay Product. This will require obtaining knowledge of the Autopay system and becoming familiar with the applicable front end products.
- Work with Management of various Statutory Development teams and Scrum Masters to coordinate the development activities associated with maintaining and updating the statutory system. This will require gaining a thorough understanding of the analysis, development, testing and deployment activities of the team.Â
- Provide guidance to feature development teams with regard to statutory business issues that might potentially influence system design or workflow decisions.Â
- Serve as a point person for inquiries on rapid statutory and system issues from business stakeholders, field support personnel and others.Â
- Assess opportunities for business process flow improvements and make recommendations for change.Â
- Attend cross functional statutory meetings that include but are not limited to the Corporate Tax Research Watch List, Document Reviews and Payroll Support Meetings.
- Attend Year End College, and Payroll/statutory conferences when requested by management.
- Participate in and delegate statutory production support issues by working closely with the Payroll Support and Triage Teams.
- Coordinate Audit Activities with Director of Statutory Development
- Manage Year End Statutory Activities by closely working with Payroll Support, Corporate Tax Research and statutory development teams.Â
- Work with Product Management as needed to understand product direction and strategy as it pertains to statutory features.Â
- Manage and maintain Autopay Development project schedule
- This is a Roseland, NJ based position and is required to report into the office (not available for home shoring)
- Travel as necessary as required by job duties
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Business/Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.Â
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
- Strong facilitation skills.Â
- Ability to lead geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.Â
- Prior experience as a business systems analyst within an IT environment.Â
- Must be able to define, elaborate and document business requirements.Â
- 5 plus year of prior experience directing a team, providing guidance and leadershipÂ
- Strong ability to prioritize time sensitive work itemsÂ
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with federal, state and local wage and tax reporting requirements
- CPP a plus
- Exposure to and/or knowledge of ADP regional practices and/or application systems a plus.Â
- Payroll background with subject matter expertise around payroll tax compliance
- Prior Agile/Kanban Experience
- Project Management Experience a plus
