ADP is seeking a Lead QA Engineer.

The Lead QA Engineer will be working with your high-powered teammates to create products that are efficient, intuitive, and to help ADP remain statutory compliant. You should have a passion for finding defects through the development of automated test frameworks that ensure maximum test coverage for all functionality. In the areas that aren’t yet automated, a keen intuition for where to look for defects manually is an important asset to the team. You should enjoy designing the test strategy, including some web based applications as well as backend test strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Join an Agile Scrum team and contribute to the design and architecture of software solutions, ensuring they are amenable to Test-Writing, (e.g. continuous integration, automated tests, etc.). 
  • Participates in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) to ensure technical completeness and accuracy. Monitors product development progress throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). Implements and executes quality activities per the standardized SDLC. 
  • Planning of tests, including the definition and management of suitable test data, and managing the trade-offs for thoroughness/completeness vs. development & maintenance effort on one hand and time to execute on the other. 
  • Reduce friction and latency in the development cycle through automation and immediate feedback; not only test, but also build, deployment, monitoring, etc. 
  • Analyze marketing requirements and write down business analysis/User Stories based on business case
  • Collaborate in solution approach preparation for new requested initiatives in partnership with business, Product Owners and Developers and globally distributed teams
  • Develops testing estimates and schedules, tracks and records testing progress and confidence levels.
  • Inputs all documented data conditions to execute test cases. Processes tests. Generates test results.
  • Analyzes results to ensure quality standards and the software meets/exceeds documented business requirements. 
  • Submits potential deficiencies in the defect tracking system. Interfaces with product development, product management, support and other organizations to resolve possible product deficiencies to ensure entrance/entry criteria is met and conforms to design and business requirements. 
  • Recommends new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Shares knowledge of products, procedures and methodologies within and outside his/her immediate department. 
  • Shares knowledge of products, procedures and methodologies with associates within and outside his/her immediate department. May assist in training of new staff associates. Participates in department training and development.
  • Adheres to QA standards. Stays current with the industry processes, trends and techniques. 
  • Performs leadership activities including; strategy, scheduling and task assignments, and team coaching and training.
  • Prepares for and takes part in testing activities for weeknight or weekend Production deployments and remediation.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience or similar Statutory reporting product knowledge.
  • Software Testing
    • Black box/White box/Grey box
    • Functional, Integration, Regression, Performance
    • Test plan/Test cases/QA Reporting
  • Proficient at designing test cases and data sets for automation
  • Proficient analyzing automation test results and performing root cause analysis
  • Experience with SDLC Processes and User Acceptance Testing
  • Strong system knowledge and analysis skills
  • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in working with HP ALM a plus
  • BA degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Analytics a plus
