ADP’s Small Business Services Division is looking for an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer in our Florham Park, NJ to help design and implement our next generation platform. At SBS (Small Business Services) everyone is a developer. The successful candidate will combine a strong Software Engineering background with expert level Ops skills to build a state of the art Build and Release platform using modern software development techniques.Â
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work with our System and Software Architects to implement a rigorous, disciplined approach to build, deployment, configuration management and process automation
- Relentlessly pursue quality and consistency of our systems architecture, designing repeatable, automated change management procedures
- Develop, test and maintain build and deployment scripts in CI/CD framework/tools using Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Consul, Docker, and others
- Monitor system health with new and existing monitoring tools
- Produce and maintain documentation on system installations, procedures and requirements
- Participate in on-call rotations.Â
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree on STEM field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Unix/Linux system administrator on a 24/7 always up, always available system
- 5+ years of experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Consul
- 5+ years of experience with Cloud management (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Expert coding skills using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, or equivalent
- Experience supporting and developing against modern software development techniques such as Continuous Deployment, Continuous Integration, Feature Flags, etc.
- Virtualization knowledge (Hyper V 2010 and 2012 /VMware) and Docker
- A good understanding of TCP/IP + network configuration, Routers, Firewalls and Load Balancers.
- Good understanding of Active Directory, Security Policies, LDAP, User Account Management and roles.Â

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
- Experience using version control, GIT preferred.
- Experience migrating Corporate Datacenters to the cloud a plus
- Prior experience as an Application Developer a big plus.
