ADP is hiring a Manual Check Processor I. In this position you will be Responsible for the processing of assigned Manual Checks in a high volume production environment. Information entered (hours/ dollars/ deduction codes/ memo codes) into ADP payroll/ HR system to calculate and create the check. Peer and individual auditing of data necessary to ensure quality of data entered. Ensures that stop payments and reversals are performed. Errant check information will result in mis-payment and client liability. Need to understand general deduction types. Highly stressful environment. All levels perform gross to net gross calculations for Total Pay Card. Responsible for logging manual check information and activity information as well as check printing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes Stop Payments and Reversals of Checks.
  • Audits Manual Check Queue for Service Requests with consideration for client and volume of work.
  • Responsible for maintaining logs to audit and reconcile.
  • Processes Manual Check through ADP Payroll System.
  • Understanding of the Manual Check process with consideration given to needs of each individual client.
  • Audits the Manual Checks for accuracy.
  • General knowledge of Service Level Agreement for each client with attention to unique needs of each client.
  • Maintain awareness of at risk clients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent in work experience required.
  • Up to 1 Year of Directly Related Experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Little to no experience necessary
  • General knowledge of Payroll Principles
  • Effectively able to work under strict deadlines
  • Successful performance as an intermediate level Manual Check processor with resultant expertise in Manual Check processing.
  • Proficiency in using a PC and Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of logic, analysis techniques, critical thought are helpful.
  • Requires communication skills – Verbal, Listening and Written.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Requires general knowledge of the organization, products and/or services.
  • Experience as a Manual Check processor with resultant knowledge of complex manual check processes pertaining to larger and more complex clients.
  • This position requires a detail oriented person who is a team player.
  • Reliability in all aspects of the job to included attendance and punctuality.
  • Very collaborative environment necessary to deal periods of intense work and deadlines.
