Executive Summary

ADP is hiring a Vice President of End User Computing in the Global Engineering Technology & Solutions organization. The VP of EUC should have prior experience in similar technical and strategic roles within an enterprise environment. The VP, EUC will be responsible for executing on the four GETS strategic pillars (Stability, Agility, Efficiency & Security) and will build the next line of leadership for the EUC. The position will define, design, build and implement a global EUC strategy and standards in addition to consistently executing on all EUC services.

Detailed EUC responsibilities include overseeing and leading:

Service Management:

  • Defines service portfolio catalog and manages service roadmap, ensuring business and technology roadmaps align.
  • Responsible for service strategy and ensuring business needs are satisfied.
  • Gathers requirements for new or enhanced services.
  • Responsible for financial management for all aspects of a service: P&L, TCO, internal pricing and chargeback, budget management, business case development, cost justification.
  • Understanding and influencing customer demand for services and the provision of capacity to meet demands.
  • Ensures that processes, roles, responsibilities and skills have the capability to operate and support a new or enhanced service.
  • Ensures that all operational services and their performance are measured and meet business service level requirements.
  • Responsible for vendor management aligned with product portfolio in partnership with PTAM.

Service Desk- Accountable for all Associate Service Desk responsibilities for all US, Canadian and Philippines based associates. Matrix relationships include India and the EU support services.

Specifics:
o Single point of contact for all associate IT troubles.
o Supports provisioning associate new hire, relocation, and terminations.
o Technical support for associate email, hardware, mobile devices, network, password, software, and telephony services.

Associate Tech Management – Accountable for all level 2 Associate Technology Management services in the US, Philippians and Canada including hardware break-fix, subject matter expert escalations, deployment services and provisioning. Matrix relationships include India and the EU support services.

Specifics:
o Business as Usual standard HW/SW service request fulfillment for which predefined approval and qualification processes exist.
o Major Incident Management leading communication, remediation, recovery, command and control.
o Problem Management ensuring root cause of problems are identified and owned through resolution.
o Access Management granting users the right to use a service while preventing non-authorized users from access.
o System Resource Management, ensuring current state of IT infrastructure functions meet current and future business demand.
o Compliance, Audit support.
o Project and Change Management support.
o Expert Technical Support
o ISO 9001 and 27001 quality and continual service improvement.

Responsible for the IT Security Engineering practice (plan/build/run): Infrastructure Protection, Endpoint Protection, Data Protection, Mobile Device Mail Sync, OS Security Standards, Microsoft Patch Review

Responsible for the Identity Management and Directory Services practice (plan/build/run): Authentication & Authorization, Identity Management, Access Management, Password Vaulting, Single Sign-on, Federation, Reporting & Evidence Collection, ID Meta Directory, Active Directory

Responsible for EUC Platform Engineering:
o All aspects of end user platform architecture, standards and services including platform hardware standards, peripheral standards, OS standards, office automation, browser and the standard build that delivers those standards to an end point.
o Responsible for end user platform and application virtualization architecture, strategy and technology.
o Accountable for the Apple MAC practice.
o Primary contact for Microsoft Premier Support relationship.
o Responsibility for Associate facing Mobility architecture, strategy and technologies including smartphone, slate and tablet computing platforms and services.
o Accountable for Software management, delivery and packaging services for end points.

Responsible for Messaging/Collaboration:
o Accountable for all Associate Messaging and Collaboration services including Email, Lync, ShareFile, etc..

The position provides IT leadership across the ADP Enterprise in the planning, creation, implementation and support of end user facing systems and information technologies that support the ADP Strategic Business Plan. This includes managing the end user experience for the delivery of those services to an end user device. This position has the responsibility for all associate facing technologies, covering over 40,000 employees in 190 physical locations.

Essential Functions
The essential functions of the position are noted below with the corresponding percentage of time dedicated to this function as compared to responsibilities in total.

1) Strategic Planning and Development: Primary role is to develop strategic focus for IT organization in support of business goals. Establish IT Department as a business enabler aligning people, process and tools to meet business needs.

This position defines the direction, objectives and strategies for End User platform, Software Management, Mobility, End User Virtualization and Support services for all internally facing systems across the ADP Enterprise; delineates the services to be offered by the function to development and infrastructure teams; and develops the service framework needed to provide the services efficiently, effectively and at acceptable return on investment levels.

Develops annual overall End User Computing business plans; reviews and approves business plans of subordinates; reviews and approves budget requests of subordinate groups, and develops and presents overall EUC budget and plans; reviews and approves all major systems and related expenditures and assesses acquisition requests for company installations.

For Identity Mgt, Directory Services and IT Security: Oversees the identification and evaluation of future technology needs; directs the identification of and research into new and emerging technologies; develops and recommends the adoption of new technologies to provide ADP with the technologies needed to lead the Company into the future and attain its short- and long-term business goals.

Considers the future business direction of the ADP Business Units and IT organization in order to identify and evaluate the information technology needs of customer departments; creates advisory groups and steering committees as appropriate to ensure that the EUC department understands and responds to customer needs; advises and counsels senior managers of the ADP IT organization as well as BU leaders on issues and implications that IT may contribute to and/or be affected by to encourage increasing efficiencies of operations and/or end user productivity.

Success requires building an effective End User computing and support strategy and infrastructure, service organization structure and direction to satisfy current and future end user needs. Understanding ADP’s business objectives. Operation goals and key business issues and priorities are critical to success.

2) 24×7 End User Support and Proximity Services: Provide 24x7x365 end user support services to the ADP Enterprise to meet all Associate business needs. Assist in the resolution of all problems impacting the ADP end user community. Provide either first call resolution, or effective triage and reassignment of all issues impacting the ADP end user community. Also provide all deployment and break fix services. Provide continuous measurement of all services offered.

3) Security: Provide IT engineering services for all security products. Act as a primary liaison between I&O and the GSO. Maintain all product architectures and strategies related to IT security. Participate in the resolution and analysis of all end user related incidents. Support forensics and legal investigations.

4) Globalizing IT: Continue to drive globalization of IT services and technologies. Collaborate with key global stakeholders in the establishment of global standards and services.

Qualifications Required:

Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.

Bachelor’s Degree is required in the related fields.

Must have over 5 years experience leading a Global End User Strategy Center of Excellence

Experience leading 200+ global team size with quality execution and top results

Expertise in defining and building an enterprise digital transformation

Must be a “Hands-In” Inspirational Leader and Technology Pioneer
