ADP is hiring a Director, Partner Development. This person works with ADP Marketplace Channel Development leads to implement and execute the defined ADP Marketplace alliance strategy within their assigned areas of responsibility. Identifies new partner relationships and builds new relationships with partners, to drive new apps and incremental new business for the ADP Marketplace. Reports on the success of each relationship and works to make improvements where necessary. Works with partners and ADP Business Units to identify and execute on opportunities for strategic relationships. Trains the alliance partner and their personnel on the ADP value proposition and our products and services. Builds awareness throughout ADP and our partner organization by communicating field success and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, manage, and close pipeline of partner opportunities to achieve assigned ADP goals
  • Develops a pipeline of opportunities through direct contact or from leads generated by the field. Engages partners at the senior level and helps to select and pursue opportunities with maximum potential.
  • Collaborates closely with partners and ADP Product teams, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal.
  • Promotes and trains partners on ADP products that are applicable to their segment
  • Identifies, coordinates, and tracks leads through partners and works with field sales team to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Supports existing partners within their area via shared goals and joint activities.
  • Manages marketing and sales efforts for each partner relationship.
  • Works to ‘train’ ADP Sales Management to understand the benefits of alliance marketing and how to uncover and qualify alliance opportunities.
  • Provides support to the field Sales by following up on partner opportunities.
  • Identifies materials, testimonials, collateral, etc necessary to promote the relationship. Promotes the partnership by leveraging partner and ADP marketing channels.
  • Works with corporate legal where necessary to develop and sign agreements with partners.
  • Track activity and sales generated overall as well as by region, sales team, and salesperson as a result of the program. Conducts plan and reviews with management.
  • Highlights partner opportunity to the field by contributing best practices and field success stories for ADP communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including developing new business models and strategies to for complex partnerships

SPECIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Requires strong negotiation, business acumen, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to function in a matrixed structure.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 20% travel required
  • BA or BS or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7-10 years experience in business development, channel marketing, sales, product marketing and/or distribution channels
  • Prior experience with a large, direct, business to business sales force required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Proven proficiency and understanding of sales process, product capabilities/economics, operations and core marketing. Extensive knowledge of ADP Products and Service and Sales required
  • Must be highly motivated within a proven track record for achieving results
  • Excellent oral, communication, and presentation skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conceptualize and sell ideas internally
  • Innovation and the ability to gain consensus is necessary
  • Negotiation skills essential
  • Must be a strong team player as well as an individual contributor
  • Good analytical skills
  • Must be well organized and capable of organizing others
