Application development leader with 12+ years’ experience with good communication skills, required to lead the software design function within our cutting-edge Online Payroll Platform application using agile development practices. Â
Responsibilities:
Involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle working with clients, product managers, analysts, architects and engineers to plan, design, develop, test and implement information technology solutions consistent with the business objective: ·        Design software components and data structures that successfully meet the agreed feature·        Assist in the implementation of design best practices within the application development team·        Perform code reviews to ensure that design standards are maintained and enforced and be accountable for the code quality·        Make recommendation for design improvements·        Participate in conceptual feature designs ·        Participate effectively in relevant aspects of the software development lifecycle including planning, construction, testing, reviews, and demonstrations.·        Collaborate with teams to design, develop, test and refine deliverables·        Investigate and resolve application issues as needed·        Collaborate with clients, product managers, architects and analysts to develop and review requirements and designs·        Review and create conceptual and physical design specifications that address requirements·        Participate in project planning and release management.·        Act as an expert source of technology and application knowledge·        Research and be familiar with new application development techniques·        Collaborate with the Technical Architecture team on technical considerations and impacts·        Collaborate with the Performance testing team to ensure that application designs are performance tested to the expected medium term threshold.·        Become responsible for a team of developers within 12 months.Â

Other Requirements·       Broad knowledge of business and technology·       Wide experience in building effective relationships and leadership·       Passionate, committed and confident in finding root causes of problems·       Self-starter, can take direction and execute it effectively with a “can do” attitude·       Must be able to work extra hours when required (for priority 1 issues mainly or with offshore team)·       Able to manage priorities based on business needs and project schedules·       Can work closely with Subject Matter Experts in the wider team (onshore and offshore) to gain knowledge of affected functional area·       Lead software developers in performing their duties, providing advice and guidance as appropriate.Â
