Lead Application Developer

The Lead Application Developer will be involved in all aspects of software development life cycle (SDLC). The candidate will work with clients, analysts, architects and engineers to plan, design, develop, test and deploy software development applications.

The Lead Application Developer’s primary responsibility will be to design and develop web applications and implement automation tools that meet client/business objectives. The candidate is expected to work in a highly agile environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, test, and support custom web applications and automation tools
  • Gather client software requirements, propose best practice design approaches, and develop related software applications and programs
  • Create UX design mockups / wireframes and review with business partners to ensure delivery of solutions that meet business needs
  • Create software documentation and update existing documents
  • Mentor, assist and support other team members
  • Communicate effectively with team leads and management regarding status updates, roadblocks, etc.
  • Implement best practices, standards, and procedures including quality and delivery methodology
  • Participate actively/follow Agile / Scrum development methodology — daily standups, poker planning, (development estimation), tasking, etc.
  • Responsible for executing scripts and/or work with the release coordination team in deploying application code and database related changes to different environments (dev, qa, staging, prod). Work may occasionally require unusual hours (evenings / weekends as dictated by Application SLA)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent background
  • 5-7+ years of experience as a web developer
  • 5-7+ years of experience in .NET 4+, ASP.NET, C#, HTML 5, CSS3, IIS
  • 5-7+ years of programming with SQL Server, SQL Stored Procedures, Database Design and Development, Performance Tuning, Entity Framework, etc.
  • 4+ years of programming with JSON + JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, etc)
  • 3+ years of programming with current Microsoft Web technologies (MVC, Razor, etc)
  • 2+ years of programming web services (WCF, SOAP, REST, WebAPI, etc)
  • 2+ years of programming with Angular / AngularJS
  • Knowledge of and experience with Design Patterns (Factory, IOC, DI, etc)
  • Experience with Logging Frameworks (NLog, Log4net, etc)
  • Microsoft TFS: Work Item organization / tracking, Iteration planning, Source Control, etc.
  • Able to work independently
  • Detail oriented, Analytical, Motivated, Team player
  • Excellent communication (oral and written)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Knowledge of ADP terminology and products
  • Experience with Balsamiq Mockups
  • Experience with troubleshooting
  • Experience with other MVVM frameworks (e.g. KnockoutJS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Build and Deployment automation TFS 2017+
  • Experience with Distributed Systems
  • Experience with Web Components (e.g. Polymer)
