JOB TITLE: Sr. Manager Payment Services – Tax

Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager Payment Services – Tax is responsible for the management of the Canadian Money Movement Tax Administration and Support Team. Acting as a key liaison to multiple internal ADP departments, external clients and Agencies, the Manager’s focus is to oversee all CADMM tax processes, manage and improve workflow, enforce policy while being committed to providing effortless experiences for both internal and external clients. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the pro-active resolution of tax related escalations, identifying opportunities for BPI and managing projects driven by new products and services across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Tax Administration:

  • Coordinate and monitor all daily functions and establish work flow for Tax Operations unit to maximize the team’s ability to process client requests. 
  • Oversee management of tax remittances in excess of $40 Billion dollars annually. 
  • Day to day supervision of 9 associates tasked with processing over 40,000 tax exception processing requests annually such as Tax Adjustments, Ledger out Of Balances, New Start Validation, and Profile Changes or THF entries. 
  • Manage workflows for upwards of 40,000 client cases per year
  • Ensure accurate, compliant and timely remittances processing and transmission to ADP’s 12+ Agency partners.
  • Manage all escalations from internal and external clients regarding tax process and Agency related matters in coordination with AR RM. 
  • Define Associate and team goals to encourage associate engagement, process improvements, strengthen client satisfaction and reduce errors.

Coaching and Development:

  • Talent Management using Effortless Quality Index, Individual Development Plan and Succession Planning. Design developmental objectives in line with corporate goals and divisional initiatives. Identification and cultivation of top talent via project and assignments suited to their skill set and pre-determined career path/goals.

Relationship Management & Case Resolution:

  • Responsible for Relationship Management between internal and external clients, Canadian and International ADP stakeholders and global institutions. Maintain close working relationships with Service Delivery Leadership to assist in escalation resolution and exception processing. Utilize relationships to craft and execute initiatives focused on improving efficiency, cost and quality of workflow. Regularly coordinate with Financial Services, Service Delivery departments to resolve escalated client tax issues and mitigate risk to ADP and to our clients.
  • Senior point of escalation for client tax issues with internal and external clients, ADP stakeholders, senior management and business partners. Ensure all case management documentation is accurate and in accordance with preset SLAs. Create and maintain metrics for Tax Operations case resolution and creation. Responsible to develop and implement policies, procedures, services and products within the Tax Operations team to promote effortless case resolution.

Risk Management:

  • Manage revenue Leakage with respect to errors and process inefficiency. Work in collaboration with Agency Relations RM to improve process and minimize P&I occurrences.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Post Secondary Education in Finance/Business or equivalent experience
  • LSS or Project Management experience an asset.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

Required:

  • Project Management/implementation experience – Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate work initiatives
  • P.C. Literate (MS Office — Advanced on all components)
  • Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate work initiatives and must be detailed and solution-oriented
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Tax Authorities
  • Coaching/mentoring and experience with performance management
  • Well-developed presentation skills, with experience in providing presentations to large groups
  • Proven ability to work in an environment committed to team-work.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum 5 Years business experience with a background in Finance or Payroll industry
  • Experience in quality and client focused leadership expectations.
