The Instructional Designer will focus on designing instructor-led and self-paced learning and develop all learning solutions. Analyze, design, develop and evaluate client and associate functional, technical, or skills training that allows for the effective and efficient use of systems, tools, and processes to provide clients and associates with the skills required to perform their job tasks. Partner with BES and regional associates to understand and analyze learning needs. Design and develop training curriculum using appropriate instructional development methods. Research, design, develop, and maintain training materials and supporting media. Facilitate developmental tests and pilot sessions to ensure effective learning of the performance-based objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain course materials including instructor manuals, participant guides, eLearning, train the trainer materials, job aids, evaluations, tests.
  • Ability to work independently throughout this stage.
  • Design learning solutions based upon audience needs and task analysis that include high level design documentation, recommended delivery method, curriculum content, and supporting materials to ensure mastery of learning objectives.
  • Ability to work independently throughout this stage, including the design of instructionally sound eLearning With senior staff guidance, establish, implement, and maintain instructional design methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Identify need for training intervention.
  • Analyze new or changed user tasks due to new product/program/process releases and upgrades.
  • Conduct task/impact analysis using standard department techniques ie. surveys, focus groups, interviews, etc.
  • Performs this with the guidance of senior team members. Implement new courses, curriculum, and updates to existing materials.
  • Conduct development tests to ensure design fulfills needs of learners.
  • Communicate design methodology to Learning Services and coach them to properly deploy materials.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training design through the creation of assessments and evaluations that gauge the mastery of learning objectives during and after training.
  • Analyze results and make changes to address opportunities.
  • Evaluate need for updates to course materials based upon product releases, new functionality, and feedback.
  • Recommend prioritization of updates and ensure implementation.
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education – experience
  • 3 – 5 years experience in instructional development, adult learning theory, technical writing
  • Ability to independently design and develop instructionally sound instructor-led training required.
  • Experience using tools such as Captivate, Articulate 360, Camtasia, MS Office suite
  • Experience using Addie or SAM methodolgy
