                                                              Located in Tempe, AZ

 

Under the leadership and development of an existing TotalSource Business Executive, provide strategic, and operational direction to a major or multiple functional areas within a P&L center such as client services (multiple service delivery models), operations and/or implementation. Assists Market General Manager or other Business Unit Executive in establishing strategic objectives and operating policies and procedures to ensure attainment of objectives in $600M region / $2B business unit. Assists with responsibility for client service delivery and retention of $600m and ~4800 clients.

 Position requires collaboration with sales and implementation leaders to drive growth of business, including assessing unhealthy business and migrating to other ADP products/BU’s. Position requires significant travel (50%) and is accountable for assisting in the creation of strong leadership talent and building a viable long-term bench.

Consistently evaluates results within the business unit/market to determine if organizational objectives are being met. Establishes and coordinates responsibilities and procedures among aligned departments/teams. Takes on broad business-unit wide strategic initiatives, gaining exposure to all aspects of the business, and develops aggressively to prepare for a business unit executive assignment.

What your day to day looks like:

  • Directs and administers a major or multiple functional areas of an business unit/market. Contributes to strategic and operating plans. Prescribes limits of authority amongst market management team regarding policies, expenditures and HR actions.
  • Analyzes operating results versus approved plans and objectives. Takes adequate steps to correct shortfalls in performance. Resolves conflicts between functional areas and organizations.
  • Responsible to nurture and lead business process innovation across their organization
  • Assists MGM (or other Business Unit Executive) in development of strategies and strategic objectives and the operating policies and procedures to ensure attainment of these objectives.
  • Ensures that plans and policies are understood and administered by the management team.
  • Uses strategic objectives as basis for establishing performance measures and incentive programs for management team.
  • This leader is externally focused and engages clients in focus groups to build and further the client relationship and to gather critical information and feedback on ways to improve throughout the sales, implementation, training and service delivery processes.
  • Works with HR Business Partner to direct acquisition, retention and continuing development of key human resources.
  • Ensures establishment of recruiting, training and development programs, performance management and reward systems to attain the highest level of productivity for long-range success. Establishes and maintains effective systems of communication with employees.
  • Represents business in relations with clients, suppliers and other external stakeholders
  • Serves as a key member of Sr. staff of the business unit.
  • Assumes other special projects/assignments as directed by DVP/MGM (or other Business Unit Executive).
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree, Business, Engineering, Sales or Marketing preferred, or equivalent in education and experience.
  • 12 years of leadership and operations experience with a focus on client experience
  • Demonstrated capacity for innovation and out-of-the box thinking
  • Ability to focus and influence others to accomplish work objectives
  • Ability to build, lead and motivate a team, with a reputation for developing people and maintaining an environment where top performers can grow
