Position

Purpose This role is accountable for full end-to-end delivery of software product with either direct or indirectly managed team members.

Key Responsibilities

Build, manage and mature the development practice, associates, associated governance models, frameworks and tools to support the practice and delivery activities.
Drive and support innovation and continuous improvement within delivery teams.
Consult with internal departments to identify customer needs and include into project objectives.
Hands-on oversight of software development and unit testing, detailed functional designs and architecture solutions.
Coordinate and facilitate workshops to elicit stakeholder’s requirements. Assess solution options to recommend the best fit against business requirements.
Reduce technical debt by ensuring solutions are robust, flexible, scalable and high performing.
Establish processes to improve software quality through Agile methodologies and other development standards and guidelines. Mentor developers in industry best practice methods.
Implement application’s functional strategy, in line with annual business plan in accordance with GPT strategy and direction.
Manage stakeholder and business expectations through strategic formulation of solutions rom concept to implementation and downstream support. Adopt strong processes for planning, design, development and support.
Analyse and review system designs, business processes and operating system procedures and training materials related to developing and implementing systems.
Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to associates within the latitude of established company policies.
Review detailed estimates to ensure that they are reasonable and aligned to historical norms where applicable, advise on alternate strategies to achieve outcomes more effectively.
Apply appropriate governance and communicate progress and risks to all stakeholders. Manage risks and issues using appropriate risk mitigation and minimisation strategies.
Demonstrate ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish. Facilitate appropriate handoffs.
Demonstrate knowledge of ADP’s core systems and business functions.
Ensure compliance with all ADP’s standards, processes, guidelines at ANZ and Corporate Level.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years extensive technical level experience of system architecture, systems engineering and application development.
Working within a multinational organisation, with matrix reporting lines.
Designing, building and implementing commercial software applications in a high-risk financial environment.
Significant people leadership experience with high-performing teams; preferably in a customer centric environment.
Direct management of development teams, across multiple product lines, with diverse technologies and skill levels.
Extensive exposure to multiple operating systems, database and integration technologies.
Continuous delivery / dev-ops model with proven outcomes.
Demonstrating a strong commercial mindset; with proven results in delivering an enhanced customer experience, through establishing and executing best practice initiatives, tools and systems

Qualifications /Certifications 

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical qualifications such as Engineering or Business Systems.
Agile/Scrum certification preferred.
