Position Summary:

  • The HR Advisor works in close partnership with the HR Business Partners, Centres of Excellence (CoE’s) (Total Rewards, Associate Relations, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development) and HR Shared Services to ensure operational excellence in delivery of cyclical programs, including the day to day HR operational imperatives and continuous improvements.
  • Working with frontline Leaders and associates as an advisor in work reviews and change processes, write and present information briefings to associates and leaders on a range of HR related topics ranging from workplace relations and performance management to providing advice on policies, procedures, legislation and enterprise agreements.
  • You will support HR operational effectiveness by ensuring transactions are executed in a timely, efficient and productive manner as well as monitor and evaluate the implementation of current HR processes and programs to ensure maximum service delivery.
  • You will apply your HR analytics and process background to facilitate the continuous improvement of HR processes with improved associate performance and engagement as outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize performance and delivery of best-in-class services, including process optimization and implementation of tools or revectoring of tools.
  • Work with HR Business Partners and CoE’s to standardize key processes, map out new processes.
  • Collaborate with partners in GPT, COE’s and HR. BP’s to identify opportunities for automation and implement across the organization.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices.
  • Conduct/facilitates training with managers and associates on cyclical processes i.e. Leadership Compass, Network Compass and other key HR processes that can include performance development and improvement.
  • Work with Data Analytics teams to pull, track, analyze and communicate key success metrics as they relate to both HR programs and operations.
  • Collaborate with Shared Services and other CoE’s in the project management and change management efforts for strategic enterprise HR initiatives impacting Canada.
  • Support year end Performance Appraisal process and other cyclical processes as required.
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and associates regarding pro-active resolution of employee relations and performance.
  • Interpret, and administer company policies/procedures to ensure the highest level of compliance and integrity across the organization and ensure compliance with provincial employment laws and practices.

 

Required:

  • 3- 5 years of HR Analyst or generalist HR experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines are necessary.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in HR Management or similar.
  • HR Certification or working towards a certification.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations using both qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Proven consultative, partnering, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to effectively receive interpret and disseminate information in a manner that is clear, concise and actionable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop strong working partnerships with clients and HR colleagues across different geographies; ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff and management; exudes confidence in advisory role to line managers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, techniques and procedures.
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills.
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively in a virtual, matrix business environment.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.
  • Ability to think proactively, and independently, to make decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously as well as see projects through independently.
  • Practically minded: able to roll sleeves up and get stuck in!
