Position Summary:

The Director, HR Business Partner, is a strategic individual contributor, who will contribute to the success of the business by working with key stakeholders to develop and deliver on short and long term transformational business strategies through new and innovating HR ideas.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and execute Human Capital Strategies focused on the achievement of the organization’s business strategy.
  • Proactively consults with clients and recommends HR solutions to improve critical business outcomes; coaches and consults to enhance employee effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with business teams, peers in HR and shared services HR organization to ensure a unified and seamless HR delivery approach to internal clients.
  • Understands the business vision, values, strategy and drivers, and creates productive partnerships to deliver sustainable HR solutions.
  • Acts as a cultural steward by fostering and reinforcing a culture of One ADP, One HR through a disciplined approach of leader and associate education and coaching.
  • Facilitates organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture. Acts as a catalyst for change; guides and directs organizational design, development and change management solutions.
  • Keeps abreast of industry, market and functional trends, and leverages these insights to develop appropriate divisional HR strategies and solutions.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for ADP Canada in the external marketplace, as we continue to evolve and reinforce ADPs place in the Canadian marketplace as a Leading Provider of HCM Solutions.
  • Navigate and drive execution across global and matrixed organizations. Ensures appropriate and clear measures are established across all deliverables (HR side/Client side), assesses performance against these frequently — drives corrective actions as needed.
  • Performs “advocate” role in support of assigned clients as it relates to surfacing significant systemic concerns and makes recommendations for changes to Corporate and/or Division level policies, practices and/or procedures.
  • Drives collaboration among multiple business units and HR functions.
  • Is involved in a variety of project work that crosses all the disciplines of HR throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Builds relationships with executives, becoming a trusted advisor, influencer and facilitator of change.
  • Leverages data from multiple sources to drive behavior, allocate resources and effectively improve performance.

 

Experience:

  • 7-10+ years increased responsibility in a senior level HR Business Partner or HR generalist work experience, within a large global organization.
  • Experienced working within a Shared Services environment.

 

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in HR, Business Administration or related field; Master’s Degree an asset.

 

Skills and capabilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate organizational change and to foster linkage between business objectives and human resources activities.
  • Strong business acumen to align both business objectives and HR strategies with corporate goals to maximize shareholder value.
  • Strong diagnostic skills followed by good ability to evaluate options/alternatives and develop recommendations for solutions to complex and multi-dimensional issues.
  • Strong bias for action and keen sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Developed consulting capabilities.
  • Skillful in resolving conflicts quickly and with win-win solutions/outcomes.
  • Solid negotiation and influencing abilities, coupled with strong project management skills.
  • Exposure to HR best practices; OD, OE and Change/Talent Management.
  • Adept at building and managing relationships effectively and be able to gain the confidence of business leaders quickly.
  • Tenacity, resourceful, flexible and adaptable.
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience as an HR Leader with proven track record of developing and delivering value-added HR solutions.
